The December 15th meeting of the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild will be held at 1:00 P.M. in the Wulff Gallery at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum, 1031 Old Route 17, Livingston Manor, NY.
This meeting will initiate an ongoing discussion of fly tying in the Catskills, from its origins and antecedents until today, including the use and development of materials and techniques. Dave Brandt and Tom Mason will lead the discussion. Of special note, Tom Mason will bring in a display of fly-tying capes bred by Harry Darbee for comparison with the hackle used today .
In addition, we need to sort through the fly-tying materials and tools that the guild has accumulated over the years. We hope members will stay around to help with this task. Refreshments may be served.
